NerveGas just posted this in the IRC channel. . .

The readme says. . .

iPhone 1.1.3 “Soft” Jailbreak
Brought to you by planetbeing, NerveGas, ghost_000, dinopio, bgm, MuscleNerd,
core, and the iPhone-Elite and iPhone/iTouch Dev teams.

OVERVIEW

This “soft” update upgrades a 1.1.2 iPhone/iTouch to 1.1.3. You will require
a v1.1.2 Jailbroke device with the BSD Subsystem v1.5 or greater installed.

This installer does NOT upgrade your baseband. It only creates a log directory
for it, which is needed in 1.1.3. Don’t freak out when you see it doing so.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

Because this is a soft update, the kernel cache is not upgraded. You will
need to ensure you are on v1.1.2, otherwise this will cause certain DRM
functionality, such as Nikita (Apple’s new software installer for the SDK)
to malfunction.

UPGRADE MUST BE PERFORMED FROM 112 TO WORK PROPERLY

IMPORTANT WARNINGS:

1. Set Auto-Lock to “Never” in your settings to prevent the Phone from
locking and shutting down your connection.

2. This installer downloads a significant amount of data from Apple’s
website. Be sure you have WiFi turned on so that you don’t use your
mobile connection – or you’ll be sitting there a while!

3. Be sure to perform this upgrade with the charge cable connected

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Copy this entire distribution to / on your iPhone/iTouch
So you will have /update-prebinding-path.txt and so on

# scp -r ./* root@iphone:/

2. Run the install.sh script:

# sh install.sh

3. The device will perform an upgrade and reboot into 1.1.3

If something DOES go wrong, restore back to 1.1.2 / Jailbroken and try again.

If you get something like illegal hardware instruction, just try rebooting
and it should be updated to 1.1.3.

If you don’t get service, try a forced-power-down then power back on.

That’s it!

Update – If you get stuck at a error that says

chown: cannot access `/private/tmp/MediaCache’: No such file or directory

Wait 15 minutes and then reboot your iPhone/iPod Touch(i was using USB 2.0. . .1.0 might need to wait longer)

I will be posting a step by step Jailbreak process. . .showing you everything that I did to JB my iPod Touch

I want to give credit where credit is due. Thank you dev team for the official Jailbreak. . .and thank you planetbeing for all of your help. InstallerApps.com probably wouldn’t be here today without his help.

@ nex – you will need to uninstall those applications. . .then reinstall them again. This will ‘reset’ the issue you’re having with Installer.app

I rushed into the 1.1.3 natetrue softupdate, to find later about all the issues and infrigments it carries. How can I downgrade my iphone, or what do I have to do to jailbreak my phone using your method. I don’t wanna try anything without asking first…
Shoud I just downgrade using “recovery mode”?

Thanks in advance and thanks, again, for remarcable work.
