   Well for the Apple Iphone if you just hit the power button you dont turn off your iphone, it keeps running but uses less juice. if you want to fully shut down the iphone hold down the power button for about 10 seconds and you will see a slide bar pop up. it will tell you to slide the bar if you want to shut down. that could be your battery problem with the appliaction.
