I’ve been having an issue with my iPod Touch lately. So I would be changing themes. . .and taking screenshots for SMBThemes.com. Then all of a sudden it would reboot my iPod. . .and about 30-45 seconds after the Apple logo, I would see black and white stripes scrolling down the screen. . .and flashing over and over. I thought this would fix itself if I let it sit there, but sadly it did not.

I thought it was the MMiThemer application. . .but after some research it seems that this happens because of the application ‘Screenshot’.

I can’t fully say that this is the reason or not. . .but I am testing this today. I will use Capture instead of Screenshot. . .and hopefully it will prevent me from having to restore again(I’ve had to restore ~4-5 times over the past 2 weeks). It’s just surprising that I never had this issue before. I mean I have been using the Screenshot application for months.

Have you had this issue that forced you to restore?

Exact same issue. I even tried to ssh into my ipod to manually uninstall screenshot, but that didn’t work. It fixed the stripes, but then the screen wasn’t responding to my touch. Ipod touch - touch = paper weight. I force restored but kept the backup settings, and still had the same problem. Pretty much the only way to get rid of it for me was to completely restore it to the manufacturers settings. Bummer, I know. No problems since then though! :)

You need to put your iPhone into DFU mode. . .and then restore it.
