I know some of you might be waiting for the release of Installer before upgrading to the 2.0 firmware. For the ones that have already taken the dive, here is one of the first major applications updated for the new iPhone 3G.
Customize has been updated to version 2.1. In this update they don’t seem to have the theme browser working, or the SMB/FreeBoard preferences working. But the rest of it seems to be working smoothly.

You might remember this application as Tap Tap Revolution. . .which got sold, and stripped down(due to the limitations of the iPhone SDK). This application used to let you pull your own music tracks to use. . .Apple doesn’t allow this in App Store Applications. They did add downloadable tracks though, which kick ass since it’s all free(even the downloadable tracks).
Note - The arrows are for the accelerometer use. . .not for ’sliding’.

That’s what we’ve all been waiting for right? I mean, this is InstallerApps.com ;)
RiP Dev has an article up about the developments of the update to Installer.
Hope you’ll like the new functionality and interface when it’s out. Please bear with us and let us know if we have missed something you think is essential in Intaller.
If you would like to subscribe to our feed, I will be posting as soon as Installer 4.0 is released.

Update - There has been another update to the WinPwn application. Version 2.0.4 has been released and now it jailbreaks the 2.0.1 firmware!!!
The step by step
Jailbreak Guide is now here.
Check out WinPwn 2.0.0.2. . .
- You MUST remove winpwn before installing new version
- Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes ( Currently 7.7)
- WinPwn uses 300MB of ram at peak due to the ipsw being extracted in memory
- You must first click browse and load an IPSW to use WinPwn (i thought this was clear)
- For 2.0 only the *5A347_Restore.ipsw files are valid. The 345 image will not work
- If you see Failed to load image catalog/payload catalog, this is fine and won’t cause problems
- If you already have service with AT&T do not activate or install Youtube Fix

This is a full motion video Texas Hold’em game from Apple Inc. themselves. This graphics for this application are awesome and it uses the accelerometer throughout the game(to switch between 1st person and birds eye view). This game also supports up to 9 players in ‘WiFi Multiplayer’ mode.
Sadly this isn’t free, but it only costs $4.99 from the App Store.

When I try to create the custom IPSW file(for the iPod Touch), it crashes right at the end, without an error. It fails during the ‘writing IPSW file’ and gets about 24 MB through it.
Is anyone else having an issue like this?
EDIT - Found this on the site
“Some users have had problems with installing Cydia on Windows XP. This will be fixed in tomorrows release”
Sucks to be me. . .lol

The step by step Jailbreak Guide is now here.
WinPwn 2.0 has now been released. If you have WinPwn 1.0 installed, you will need to UNINSTALL it first. . .or it will mess things up.
You can download it here, here, or here.
Installer is of course still not there(currently it’s only Cydia), but the developers are working on a bug free version of Installer for the 2.0 firmware. Expect it within the next week or two.
