I just changed the setting in Wordpress that allows any visitors to comment on posts. To prevent spam I will be moderating ONLY the comments that include a link to somewhere. This combined with the ability to ban specific IP-Addresses should be good enough. If not, I’ll have to change it back to the old way, but I think it’ll be good.

Recently I did the something similar, and allowed all visitors to rate applications. This has improved the Best iPhone Apps section, so I would like to try this with comments as well.

    You should check out the Spam Assassin plugin. Way better than Akismet–it kills literally thousands of spam comments a week on my blog.

    @Dan, I just installed Akismet. . .so far so good.

    @Jay, I understand. The camera is actually a good one(logitech quickcam pro) it even shoots in HD.

    The issue I think you’re talking about is with motion correct? Makes it kinda blurry? That’s because I have very BAD lighting in my room. And to make the icons/text readable. . .I need to turn on this feature that logitech has(automatic rightlight). That is what is making the motion all blurry.

    Then again, I hope this is what you’re complaining about. . .if not then I’m in trouble. I have seen some videos showing off iPhone and iPod Touch applications. . .and they are soooooo much worse than mine.

    I do plan on investing in some lights. . .unless someone would be nice enough to donate theirs :p

    @jay, check out this video

    http://www.installerapps.com/2008/02/21/pericam/

    I did a test one week and that is what it looked like without the ‘right light’ thing. It’s not blurry. . .just very dark.

    Thanks for the comment though, I will actively go and look for some lighting solutions now(I don’t like to settle if it’s obvious that there is an issue). I tried walmart yesterday, but I think I’ll do better looking online.

    If anyone has any advice on what I should look for, please let me know.

    Well, I’ll pay that.
    You do often show videos of iPhone applications and end up not actually showing it since you can’t do anything.

    Don’t get my wrong, I like the site, its useful for updates!

    @ Sam, no worries. I can handle the criticism as long as it’s constructive. You are right though, hence the reason for the donation widget ;)
