UPDATE 2 – From what I read, this video was released by the actual iPhone Dev Team, so it is real.
The iPhone 2.0 firmware has already been jailbroken and unlocked by the iPhone Dev Team.
This has been confirmed on Gizmodo and they say the Dev Team will release the code ‘soon’.
I will post again as soon as it is released with a step by step how-to for upgrading, jailbreaking, and unlocking your new iPhone 3G(or upgraded 2.0 firmware).

You put the original 2.0 on there or you put the hacked pwn firmware on there?

Updated my ipod touch to 2.0 using pwntool for mac. Then got some free apss from the appstore and loaded the monkeyball crack. Good thing Cydia and Open SSH comes with the pwntool so we’re getting closer to the day…
I have done the jailbreak on my 3G but this doesn’t unlock the phone to all networks I’m on t-mobile is it possible to unlock the 3g and if so how is it done
@Darren I believe they are still working on that now.
So I’m stuck with a 3G ipod instead of a iphone until then(i sold my 2G when I got this one)

I have a good question for anyone who can answer it….. I jailbreaked the phone on Monday perfectly. No problems at all. But after I jailbreaked it, they released the 2.0.1 update. If I update it now is it going to affect the phone negatively? I dont mind that it will remove the unlocking capabilities in it. (I will stick with AT&T).
@chris, it will remove the jailbreak capabilities. . .like cydia/installer. . .until you jailbreak again
2.0.1 is MUCH Better than 2.0(except for the jailbreak part
yea i like the jailbreak part tho, plus i dont feel like inputing my contacts again…ill stick with what i have for now.
I did the jailbreak, got it all going, when I went to cyndia it said it needed to be updated. I downloaded the update and now the I phone has been stuck at what I guess is a loading screen for about 20 minutes. It’s a black screen with the thing going in circles constantly in the center. I got the white status bar on the top that shows my reception and the time and stuff… it still thinks it’s plugged into the computer though because it shows the charging icon and it’s no longer plugged in… can’t turn it off or anything… help?
Greg, have you tried holding down the home and sleep buttons? Just hold them both down at the same time until your iPhone restarts.

When you flash the phone do it without the sim card in. Then when you are done put it back and it works fine. Tested on O2 uk.

I jailbroke my phone, but the Installer App doesn’t seem to have much on it? So I wanted to delete it from my iphone (along with the apps from it), but can’t figure out how…. help? (there doesn’t seem to be any delete/uninstall keys like Cydia has)
It’s great if it will last. Own my 4Th Jailbreak today in a month, I have the latest Jailbreak software but still I get crash’s. If it fails me again I will never Jailbreak it again, too much stuffing around. If it can’t work without fail then it’s useless to me. If any one can help out that would be great. Other wise if PwnageTool fails me once more then that’s it I’ll put up with my normal 3G iPhone cause it works without fail.

What are the risks involved when jailbraking?
This is for LEXX: Battery life and high risk of crash’s meaning you may haft to restore a few times. I found that too that the Apps from jailbreak cause these problems. I’m returning to a normal iPhone when 3.0 comes out.
What are the side affects for jailbreaking? I jailbrokn my fone bout 6 months ago… till date it works awsome…
