When I try to create the custom IPSW file(for the iPod Touch), it crashes right at the end, without an error. It fails during the ‘writing IPSW file’ and gets about 24 MB through it.

Is anyone else having an issue like this?

EDIT - Found this on the site

“Some users have had problems with installing Cydia on Windows XP. This will be fixed in tomorrows release”

Sucks to be me. . .lol

Hi there, I seem to be having trouble restoring my iPhone with the custom firmware file created. Up until that point i had no problems following the installation instructions as per Jailbreak guide….

The error message is “The iPhone “iPhone” could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (6).

Now my phone is just showing the white apple symbol and i dont know what to do. Please help urgently…

i thought you said you got that error when you tried to restore from the custom firmware. restoring to the original firmware should work perfectly fine

i dunno anything about the error 6. i have heard others are getting it. . .and hear it’s pretty random(might even be fixed in the next release of winpwn). they said after a few tries it eventually goes through(not sure though)

@Joeleen, I assume you are on AT&T? If so then you should not have picked the activation box when you made your custom firmware.
