Pwnage Tool and Installer 4
August 07, 08 by DougThe Pwnage Tool 2.0.2 update was supposed to be released today. Sadly this has been delayed until tomorrow(Friday). The good new is that it will include the first public beta of Installer 4(remember the one listed here was leaked).
I can’t wait! The 2.0.1 firmware is SO much more stable than 2.0 is. Sadly us windows users will probably have to wait a day or two before the release of WinPwn. I can only hope planetbeing is taking advantage of this delay and preparing as much as possible.

so when the release of winpwn come out i can upgrade to 2.0.1? and does the firmware update include speeding things up, as ive noticed it takes ages to do things.

@Jay, The 2.0.1 update fixes every bug I have had in the 2.0 firmware. Though I just read some 2.0.1 users are still getting stuck at the apple logo on boot. . .I haven’t had it happen to me since I upgraded.

@Max, yes you can have both Cydia and Installer on your device.

if i have no desire to unlock my phone but would like to jailbreak my phone would i be safe to upgrade to the 2.01 frimware? Also i am waiting for the installer 4 to be released before i jailbreak will installer 4 support 2.01 jailbreaking?

Does pwnage allow the installation of both installer and cydia though?
Previous versions made you choose one. You can however install the other one yourself.
At least thats how I remember it.

@Chris yes you are safe Chris. installer 4 will be on the 2.0.1 firmware(jailbroken)
@Sam, I just read that ‘it will include both’ im not sure if they will allow both, but they will at least give you the choice

so if i have Windows Vista HP Pavilion Entertainment PC as my laptop computer ill have to wait a few more days til they release the winpwn with installer 4 for windows? And everytime i open itunes it asks me if i want to upgrade to 2.0.1 firmware. Should i do that and will this winpwn jailbreak it for me allowing me to have installer 4 cause i dont want to upgrade and find out i have to wait for another upgrade of winpwn.

@simorgh, yes it will be MUCH more stable
also you can expect some sources for the new installer too!
@john, yes you will have to wait(like me) until they release the updated version of winpwn(unless you have a mac to jailbreak it with)

@john, I would wait until the jailbreak method that best suits you(windows/mac) is released

I don’t wanna jailbreak my iPhone 3G until the full Installer 4 releases. Sadly the beta is horrible
