@Chaits, Yes, with every upgrade you have to reinstall your apps(you have to restore to a fresh copy of 2.2)

i just wanted to check. If I have been using a ziphone unlocked iphone, can i upgrade to v2 then use Pwnage? ie, it won't affect the Pwnage unlock that I previously used Ziphone?
thanks

@Time, that's because there isn't an unlock for the carriers yet. You HAVE to be on AT&T even after jailbreaking. if you jailbroken and put in a T-mob sim etc on 3G iPhone it will not work as a phone, just the device itself will work. You'll have to do a restore in iTunes. It's very hard to go from latest (2.0.2 back down to anything previous if I'm not mistaken. I had to go from 2.0 to 1.1.4 once and it took hours and many attempts...so good luck if that's the case. If you are an AT&T subscriber, then just restore in iTunes, then jailbreak again (so you can instal Cydia apps etc, but don't expect to use the iPhone 3G on anything other than AT&T. (In the States anyway that is, not yet anyway). Good Luck.

There are numerous posts everywhere on the web stating that the 3G cannot be unlocked for other carriers yet, i think you missed that memo. ;-)

Did anyone get my question? My 1st gen iphone is currently unlocked running the 2.0 firmware - I unlocked it for use with T-mobile using the previous version of pwnage. Do I need to use bootnueter again when I update to 2.0.1, or can I skip this step because the baseband is already unlocked?
thanks

for some reason itunes won't let me pick the custom restore, even when i have the option key held down. it will only let me download the 2.0.1 software.

i'm using itunes 7. is that the problem?

This only jailbreaks your iphone. . .it will NOT unlock it for another carrier.

However if you are on AT&T and you get this, it's because you selected the activation option, and didn't need to
