I have updated the the Jailbreak Guide for step by step instructions on how to Jailbreak 2.0.2

Note - This is for Windows users only. . .Mac users will have to wait until the PwnageTool update is released. Subscribe to our RSS Feed and we’ll tell you exactly when that happens

Windows users can now jailbreak your 2.0.2 iPhone or iPod Touch. Sadly there still isn’t a way to unlock your iPhones(but I hear they are hard at work on it).

Click HERE or HERE or HERE to download the updated version.

I am updating my 2.0.1 jailbroken iPod to 2.0.2 and will test this right now. I will update this post live as things happen.

- Updating to the 2.0.2 firmware via iTunes
- Opening QuickPwn, Selecting iPod Touch, Locating Firmware, Keeping Cydia, Installer, and Boot Logo checked, clicking Go!
- Command line window opens, it’s telling me to turn off my ipod/iphone and then pressing enter
- ipod is off, and pressing enter
- Putting ipod into DFU mode(im just following the steps)
- text scrolls, ipod touch screen turns white
- screen goes black, winpwn logo appears. . .still waiting
- winpwn logo disappears, wheel spinning above the home button(at the bottom of the screen)
- ipod reboots, no more spinning wheel. . .just a winpwn logo

The iPod touch is back to the home screen with the App Store, Cydia, and Installer installed successfully.

This is still just for 2.0.1 according to the software I just downloaded.

@Sigh, make sure to download the link i put in the post. Before the command line at the bottom of the QuickPwn window it clearly says it supports 2.0 - 2.0.2(and it worked correctly for me)

Is there much of a difference in QuickPwn and WinPwn? I am currently using WinPwn and i was only able to get cydia to work and Installer didn’t work it would give me error messages constantly. Do you think if i jailbreak using QuickPwn it would work? If so do you jailbreak the same way using QuickPwn as WinPwn?

QuickPwn seems to fix all the issues most users were having with WinPwn and 2.0.1.

QuickPwn doesn’t create a ‘custom firmware’ for you to load via iTunes. It simply goes in and hacks it quickly. The GUI looks like the PwnageTool(for Macs)

    Great info! It’s appreciated!
I just picked up a touch tonight running 2.0.1 but I am going to update it now I think. Is it better to wait for the new winpwn support 2.0.2? Is it easily reverted back to previous firmwares if need be?

updated without a hitch. remember to install 2.0.2 ofw first. before doing anything though i reccommend using the app bacup tool (available from cydia - i did not and am now restoring all my cydia apps) and then back up your iphone with itunes.

Confirming that it works great on Ipod touch 16gb firmware 2.0.2. Sweet. I haven’t had a jailbroken device since 1.1.4 because it was too much of a hassle.

I have tried this thrice already and it does not work.
    I have a 2.0.1 pwned iPhone.

I am fine upto Operation 7 (in the command prompt). On Operation 8, the phone just restarts into the same old 2.0.1 and the command prompt gets stuck at “Please wait …while you phone is being jailbroken….”. DEAD. Nothing happens after that, the phone is still there.

Well. I was able to upgrade to 2.0.2 using Quickpwn.
Now i have an issue that i cant resolve. For some reason the only sound my phone makes is when the phone rings. All other sound is enabled in the settings but doesnt play.
Anyone has a clue if i am missing anything here.
    Thanks.

    Hi from Europe

Have a Sim Free 3g 16gb that I jailbroke with WinPwn 2.0.4 and all went well.
Tried the QuickPwn yesterday and after 4 tries still my 3g shows Ver 2.0.1 (and not 2.0.2 as expected)
Question: Do I need to Upgrade the iPhone first to Ver 2.0.2 via iTunes and then use QuickPwn or the meaning of this program is that to upgrade my 3g to Ver 2.0.2 automatically?
A clear answer will be appreciated. Thanks

The application couldnt initiate correctly (0xc0000135). Click on accept to finish the application.
What’s the problem, is the program wrong or is it something with my pc?
