BodyGuardz Review & Giveaway
September 19, 08 by DougCheck past the video for details on how to win your own BodyGuardz cover/skin.
I was sent a box of 2 protective covers for the 1st generation iPhone to test out from BodyGuardz.com.
I love the idea of these covers. I’m not a fan of putting a thick case on my device for protection, which makes it so bulky. I have seen these BodyGuardz covers go through some stress tests and withstand a key trying to be pushed through it. Now I doubt my pocket will do nearly that much damage. . .but that alone makes me feel safe when I toss it on the table or throw it in my pocket.
The one downfall to this product is actually applying the cover. If not done perfectly you’ll get things from air bubbles, fingerprints, streaks, or peeling(let alone misalignment). I have to say that the instructions on the box were very thorough and helped me through most of it. If you’re still confused after reading the box there are even videos on their website that show you how to apply it.
The only issue I had was with the edges. It started off with small areas that ‘popped up’ on the edges. That collected dirt and dust over the past few days and has gotten worse(nothing horrible, just noticeable).
With the cover on, the screen is very clear and only slightly noticeable. It’s still easy to slide across the screen and there is no loss in touch sensitivity.
Since I was sent a box of 2 covers, I wanted to give away the unused one.
To enter to win, leave a comment and pick a number between 1 and 1000. I will go to Random.org and pick a random number. Who ever gets closest without going over(Price is Right rules), wins!
Hurry and enter. . .the contest ends next week, Saturday at midnight.

I don’t need them, I have a 3g phone. But I wanted to comment. I have the Bodyguardz on my 3g. They have been on there since I got the phone in Mid July. So it is now been only 2 months and I concur with you, the corners and edges of the back piece are peeling up and collecting dirt and dust. I’m debating about removing the back piece now. The front still looks awesome and will probably last for a long time, but the back is going to have to come off soon.

@ Rodney, I have thought about taking the entire back off. . .or simply cutting back the sides of the cover. Either way, the front is what is important to me.

Hi have been using that invisi sheild for about 2 months(I know it’s a different brand but similar). From my useage I tell you that it works great, likethe others said the front still looks the day it was put on. However the back has started to collect dust at the corners, but so far it hasn’t started to peel off, and I pick 505
Doug Says: 20.09.08 at 7:34 pm
@Aman, It’s good to know that it’s not specific to this brand

I like the idea behind the product but its too expensive considering you don’t just install it and forget about it for years. It does come off, it does peel and it does start to lose its color. I’ve opted instead for a gadgetshieldz full body skin because its the same material and they ship it for free. The total cost is around 7-8 bucks, not the $30-40 bodyguardz and invisible shield add up to be.
