Shhh. . .Don’t Speak Your Mind
December 02, 08 by DougI wrote a post this past weekend talking about a thought that I had gotten all of a sudden. This post seemed to enrage most of the visitors, at least most of the ones that decided to comment.
It seemed most were annoyed that I decided to ‘focus on BigBoss’. Believe me, I have plenty of respect for this guy. I have watched him bring Cydia up(from nothing) and virtually overtake the Installer.app user-base. That is not an easy task and combined with his blog posts(that I have subscribed to for months and months), I have learned to respect the man.
The reason for picking him for the post is partly because of the success of Cydia(it just makes for more of a target), and partly because BigBoss himself seems to be a ‘bottle neck’ to the massive distribution of jailbroken applications. I even said in the post that this wasn’t in any attempt to bash BigBoss or his integrity. . .it was just a thought. This was more of something that just popped into my head and it made me think, ‘wow. . .what if this happened’. God forbid I talk about my thoughts about something iPhone related on a ‘blog about iphone applications’, lol.
More than anything, I’m just looking for the iPhone community to ’stay safe’. When you jailbreak your device anything can happen. Hopefully you have your ‘finger on the pulse’ enough that you can learn about an attack before it happens to you. . .but not everyone is that privileged.

Personally, I found the outbursts to be very rude. I mean what is this, some sort of giant network ruled by whiners and hardcore porn?

Don’t worry Nicholas, nothing will change. I just figured with the momentum that the post created that I should do a follow-up about it.

I, personally, did not find it to be rude or offensive. As you can see, he meant nothing of the sort, as he said is very successful and hardworking, but because when you hack your iPhone/Touch you are also increasing your chances for other people to breach your phone/touch or AT&T’s network which is why Apple created the AppStore to make those apps more accessible and secure to the public because you have Apple reviewing the apps before they’re published. O and Nicholas, Installer and Cydia, in my opinion from what I see, is very sensitive to people publishing adult content and other material to them, but you may see it differently.

Oh yes, I was referring to the replies to Doug’s post that were rude, not the post itself. I quite enjoy reading this blog, it’s great to keep up to date on all things ipod touch. A question that sparks a debate can be lot’s of fun, but I think that it’s easy for people to forget that there are people on both ends when communicating over the web.
Oh, and my last comment was meant to be on a sarcastic note referring to the internet in general.
