2nd Generation iPod Touch Jailbreak Coming Soon
January 14, 09 by DougThe iPhone Dev Team has just posted a hint at a jailbreak for the 2g iPod Touch. They will be calling this redsn0w(redsn0w.com) and ’should’ be released soon. Even the previous ‘hacking team’ that were expected to jailbreak the 2nd generation iPod Touch(Chronic Dev Team) confirms that redsn0w will be the first jailbreak available.
I assumed the iPhone Dev Team dropped the responsibility of releasing this just so they could concentrate on the unlock(and not get flooded with emails for the ipod jailbreak).
So far there is no ETA on when it will be released, but this announcement has to mean that they found a way in, and now they just need to package it up and do some beta testing.

Ok. So right now there is no jailbreak for the iPod touch 2g running 2.2 firmware? And if you jailbreak your iPod sucessfully will all of your music and apps be deleted? So if anybody has for sure answers for this please answer. TY!

im not sure how to jailbreak it but you have to delete all games and music to do it then attemp to jailbreak and if it works then you can add music and games right back

I know about redsnow. But it’s mac only and a beta. I don’t exactly trust it yet. I just want to know if u absoloutley have to erase all your apps and music.

This author knows nothing. Its not about putting it into a package, in fact dev team is stuck and looks like they gave up on the jailbreak for the touch. Right now they release a “tethered” version of redsnow, which means you need your computer tethered to the ipod for it to work. Meaning its looking like months before one of us breaks it not them.

hey a jailbreak is already out it wont cause no problems to your ipod mine is in perfect condition its called quickfreedom use it trust me
