AppBoxx.com Launches!

February 16, 09 by Doug

Update – Fixed a bug with apps on sale and updated apps as well as enhanced the rss feeds with screenshots of the applications. also added an ‘all apps’ page to list every single application in the app store

App Boxx

AppBoxx.com will track new applications, updated applications, and applications that are on sale(reduced in price). You will see the front page lists all App Store activity, and tells you if it’s new, updated, or on sale. And if you’re looking for something specific like just new apps, just apps have been updated, and just apps you can get for cheap. App Boxx can literally save you hundreds of dollars a day in applications on sale.

I think it is time to launch the website myself and this freelance coder has been working on. It’s almost been almost 2 weeks since we started working on it and now the main features are up and running.

Just remember, this is an early version of the website. I have a lot of plans for new features and even things that need to be tweaked and modded right now. If you have an idea or find a bug please contact me with as much detail as possible.

BTW – I want to thank everyone who voted in the poll that I ran asking what I should name this website. The domain I thought was the best actually got the least amount of votes(shows what I know!). Thanks again!

Looks good so far. One thing that you could update is a better way to differentiate new apps, price drops and updates. Like on appshopper.com, the words Price Drop are in a green box, New apps are in blue, and it’s easier to tell if you’re just glancing through the list of apps quickly.

I went with adding text to the end of the application names.

I will look into using different colors for the background color of the table cells. but I don’t want to copy them and use colored images

A light background color would be nice too. Just not too dark and distracting from the app name and descriptions.

I’d like to be able to track apps I am interested in. Like if they go on sale (so I can snatch em up), if they get updated (to get that feature I’m waiting for before I buy) etc. I’d prefer to have email alerts or an rss feed, but a page with all of the recent activity of the apps I’m interested in would be good too.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I have thought of a way to get notifications about activity with an application, but am still thinking of how to implement and deliver the notification.

indeed I do dylan. once you pay for hosting already the cost of starting a new website is very small compared to the revenue you can bring in if it takes off.
