Clippy [Updated]

Version:
Clippy brings system wide copy an paste to the iPhone or iPod touch.
The recent updates to Clippy have forced me to re-review this app. The big difference from the original Clippy is the ability to copy text from static pages, emails, web pages, nearly any app with text. You do this by simply tap and holding your finger on some text you want to copy and a menu will appear asking of you’d like to copy it. To copy text when editing you double tap and hold your finger in the text box and highlight the text then press and hold the “.?123″ key. A menu will grant the ability to cut, copy, paste, or stack the highlighted text. The “.?123″ key will be your new friend when you need to copy or paste.
This is EXATLY what Apple needs to implement officially. But, I really recommend Clippy, it’s easy copy and paste that everyone needs. Apps like this are what making jailbreaking worthwhile.

I like the old way better instead of the pop-up to copy. What this app needs is a config utility so you can do either/or and so you can disable it in things like list view on mail. I have clippy coming up more often than it should when I simply want to go through my mail messages. Also, battery life has suffered on this version. I’ve moved to hClipboard and haven’t had battery issues and at least don’t have the annoying popups within apps where I dont want them.

I had tons of issues with safari crashing over and over while trying to order some music online. After the 5th crash, I uninstalled clippy and have not had issues since. I also enjoyed the previous way clippy worked with the keyboard instead of the popup. Just trying to look at a site and it pops up way too often. Will wait on this a little longer before trying it out again…
