The real difference is SPEED! Icy wins hands down over Cydia! But that should not be the only feature you base your decision on. Besides, compared to the Apple App Store distribution, at least it is not censored. If you have enough memory, 16GB is very hard to fill up, Then what does it matter!

I understand that multiple choices leads to competition. . .and maybe this is what was need to get Cydia to be even better than it already is(being faster is a good start). I just don't see a need for redundancy.

I think it's a good thing. It spawns competition and forces innovation. If one product wants to beat the other, it has to be and do better. It's also good that people have their choices. It would be bad to be stuck with a one side monopolistic solution like apple's appstore.

I have no problem with multiple ways to install when their are unique advantages to both. Icy is fast and small. If I don't need a screenshot and I know exactly what I'm looking for, Icy is perfect. It replaces Outsource more than Cydia IMHO.
