locatable

Version:0.3-1

Locatable is an application and service for your iPhone or iPod Touch that lets you share your current location to the web sites you choose to trust, anonymously and without your data being stored on the server.

There isn’t an app on Cydia or the App Store for everything. Or certain developers can’t make native apps for the iPhone or iPod Touch, but make web apps instead. But these developers would also like to take advantage of features that native apps can use, in this case, your location. Locatable allows you to have your location sent to websites for various services like Geocaching web sites or finding a restaurant. All you’ve got to do is download the app, set some preferences and go to a site that can take advantage of this. Luckily if you don’t know of any the “Featured Sites” button will list a few sites that can take advantage of it.

Requesting your location is the same as a native application. A dialog box pops up asking “x wants to know your location. yes or no” and the app goes to work. During the process it may load a different app for a moment but ultimately bring you back to the website you were viewing.
