The new iPhone 2.2 Firmware debuted today(to developers only). While I like the idea of having quicker access to Google in my iPhone browser. . .I can only imagine how much Apple will rake in from this tiny change alone. I’m curious to see how easy it is to touch the refresh button too.
Everyone knows by now how strong the iPhone has become in just a couple of years. It was humorous when Apple said that the iPhone would not be a platform for developers. The ‘hackers’ solved that problem right?
Then Apple got on board and decided to open up the device and finally let people develop legit applications for the iPhone and iPod Touch. After 1 month of ‘following Apple’s rules’, they were able to put close to 2000 different applications on the device. In one month alone they had over 30 million in revenue and had served(1 million per day), and 60 million downloads. Erick Schonfeld of TechCrunch said
And I’m not the only one who thinks that these apps are going to hit a saturation point real soon. And then it will become clear that the killer apps on the iPhone are the same as on your computer: email and the browser.
So why hasn’t there been any killer apps released in the App Store?
Check past the video for details on how to win your own BodyGuardz cover/skin.
I was sent a box of 2 protective covers for the 1st generation iPhone to test out from BodyGuardz.com.
I love the idea of these covers. I’m not a fan of putting a thick case on my device for protection, which makes it so bulky. I have seen these BodyGuardz covers go through some stress tests and withstand a key trying to be pushed through it. Now I doubt my pocket will do nearly that much damage. . .but that alone makes me feel safe when I toss it on the table or throw it in my pocket.
\Cmw gave an update @ WinPwn.com saying that although he has been busy, some of the other members of the team should be releasing the update to WinPwn very soon. This of course will allow Windows users to jailbreak their iPhone or iPod Touch.
As always, stay posted and I will have a step by step guide as soon as it’s ready.
