With qTweeter to update both Twitted and Facebook simply swipe your finger from the status bar to pull it down. You’re given a text box and your keyboard to type in your status. You can choose Twitter or Facebook such you set up before use using the application to edit settings. In the settings there are also options to change the background, profile picture, update sound, and edit your account details.

A GUI Bit Torrent client for the iPhone built on Enhnaced CTorrent

Torrentula is a GUI front for CTorrent with the ability to search on many different Bit Torrent search engines. Use of the app is simple, choose a site to search from, then search for torrents and download them as you might on your computer. The downloaded torrent will be placed under “Torrents” along with any other torrents you downloaded. Select one and be presented with the ability to start downloading, email the torrent, delete it, or rename it. Once you start downloading you just leave it sit and wait, just as you would on your computer.

The only problem I had was with torrent searching, the built in browser was very clunky and laggy. If you can live with that and feel the need to download on the go, Torrentula may be worth your time.

MewSeek Pro is an application for live streaming and download of music over wifi, edge, or 3G and the ability to sync with the iPod app.

MewSeek Pro is an upgraded version of the original MewSeek with a key new feature, the ability to sync any file downloaded with the iPod app on your device. No longer do you need to play your downloaded music files in MewSeek. All you’ve got to do to get started is search for a song, you can sample songs searched for by streaming it within the search page. Once you’ve picked a song you can start your download. At this point you can go to your downloads page, select files you want imported and select “Add to iPod”, this will import them into the built in iPod app.

iBlab is a widget that displays user submitted blabs from the iBlab home page. Included in the package is the lock screen widget.

iBlab, at it’s core, is like a public message board that live streams directly to your lock screen. Anyone can post a message through the iPhone app or their web site, which will soon be updated on your lock screen.

This is a neat app, but the public-ness of it discourages me for a few obvious reasons. But, This concept would be great towards something like Twitter incorporated on your lock screen.

MyFox is a replacement for the Safari web browser. It carries similar features that safari has like bookmarks (that sync with Safari), landscape mode, home page, web clips, quick searching with multiple search engines to default to, and url recovery. But MyFox is lacking some features like multi-page browsing. It’s most notable features are full screen browsing, and faster load times (in my testing), which could make MyFox your new iPhone browser.

This is the main feature of MyFox is it’s full screen browsing mode in either portrait or landscape mode. The feature can be enabled in the settings menu. To activate full screen, shake your phone! The app is picky when detecting shakes, often taking a few tires to get it to work, I’d prefer some finger gesture to shaking. But the browsing experience is the same as we’ve come to love within Safari without the blue bars.

In my testing, MyFox seemed to load web pages faster. Below are the load times of various sites compared to Safari. The tests were conducted on the same wifi network, same device, and all caches cleared before hand.

My final verdict is MyFox is a nice alternative to Safari, but the lack of multi-page browsing, a sometimes jerky and weird interface are keeping me from making it my primary browser. If you can tolerate the negatives for a full screen mode and a slightly faster browsing experience, MyFox could be for you.

Stumbler Plus is a wifi scanning tool for either your iPhone or iPod Touch. The app will find nearby hotspots and give you detailed information like SSID name, vendor, signal strength, channel, AP mode, Beacon Interval, type of encryption, and it also detects hidden networks. One great feature for you iPhone 3G owners if the ability to use your GPS to add the location to this information. Within the app you can save the information and the location of the hotspot to locate it on the go within the application using Google Maps.

Stumbler Plus is a great little app that does it’s job in a simple, yet usable interface. I was unable to test out the GPS locating accurately on a 2G iPhone, but shouldn’t provide any problems. I recommend you download this app if you ever find you self walking around looking for that special hotspot to check your email, get new apps, or read this site!

PdaNet, made hugely popular with Windows Mobile and PalmOS, is now released fro the iPhone. It allows your laptop(or desktop) to go online wirelessly by connecting it to your iPhone through WiFi. PdaNet goes through the unlimited data plan on your phone and does not require any extra services.

Since NetShare was removed from the App Store(used for tethering) everyone has been looking for an alternative. PdaNet is yet another Killer Application to grace the jailbroken community.

Note - If you don’t know how to setup an ad-hoc connection, simply touch the question mark icon(bottom left) and it will take you to a page with step by step instructions.

Twinkle, a cool Twitter client that adds photos and geo-location. See what those around you are Tweeting.

I wish I could test this application’s geo-location feature. . .but it doesn’t allow you to manually set my location. . .and I only have an iPod Touch.

However, I do love the UI and it even auto-refreshes. . .which to me is a HUGE feature in a Twitter client. I would like to see a ‘Replies’ tab sometime in the future.

Finally there is a good native Twitter application available via Installer. I would say this application has every necessary feature. . .but could use some minor tweaks. Thankfully the developer says most of those tweaks will be made in future updates.
