iPhone OS 3.0 preview, March 17th!

March 14, 09 by Daniel

Set your calendars folks, Apple is going to be previewing the new iPhone 3.0 software. No changes are known about the 3.0 update, but there’s quite a few things we’re hoping for, Copy/Paste, MMS, A2DP, universal landscape keyboard, tethering, and Push Notification. This will definitely be exciting because Apple has not released any substantial OS upgrade in a while. But, come March 17th we’ll get to see the new features and we’ll have them posted here.

Maybe Time For A New Theme?

January 07, 09 by Doug

I had originally purchased the ‘Revolution Music theme to use on iPhoneFTW.com, but since I decided to go in a different direction with it. I never thought InstallerApps.com needed a new look(even when I upgraded AppStoreApps first and it had been out longer). But I do have this theme and why should I let it go to waste. I don’t see myself starting any other websites anytime soon.

Here is a demo. . . http://www.revolutiontheme.com/music/

Tell me what you think

Do you think we should switch to the Revolution Music theme?

yellowsn0w Released, Download Now

January 03, 09 by Doug

yellowsn0w has officially been released by the iPhone Dev Team. Now you can unlock your iPhone 3G(even if you used quickpwn to activate and jailbreak it) and it’s really easy to setup.

All you have to do is go into Cydia(or Installer) and search for it. I just go to the ‘changes’ tab and look for the most recent updates(which shows yellowsn0w right at the top).

If you don’t see it then you probably don’t have the correct sources installed. Which are. . .

* Cydia source: http://apt9.yellowsn0w.com/
* Installer repo: http://i.yellowsn0w.com/

You should just be able to install it and then you’re done. But some are having issues(like with t-mobile where you have to turn 3G off for it to work). If you’re having any odd errors like that then the iPhone Dev Team has some information that will help you.

Dev Team’s iPhone 3G unlock demoed

December 22, 08 by Daniel

The Dev Team (The people who make the wonderful applications to jailbreak our devices) have demoed their iPhone 3G software unlock. This new program named “yellowsn0w” will be released on December 31st. Unfortunately if you’ve upgraded your iPhone 3G without using pwnage to preserve the baseband you’re out of luck when yellowsn0w releases. And even though it’s unlocked, the iPhone 3G won’t run on T-mobile’s 3G network due to hardware differences (it will run on EDGE though).

Check out the Dev Team’s blog to watch the demo of yellowsn0w here.
