And just in time. . .I was worried that it wouldn’t get done until after Christmas. Now we’re our own server with 1GB of ram(instead of 10MB) and now we’re on a 100Mbit line(instead of a 10Mbit).
It’s not that InstallerApps.com was slow before, but now it’s super fast. But now the website will not get a ‘500 internal server error’ anymore(which has been happening a lot lately).
Please, let me know if you see something that’s broken or doesn’t look right.
I’ve been in touch with Marware for the past week. What I was looking to do was review the Game Grip that they sold. . .and then give it away like I normally do after reviewing a product. When I got the email, I read that it was only for the iPhone 3G and 2nd Generation iPod Touch. Well, as you may know. . .I don’t have either of those. I immediately contacted Marware to confirm whether or not it would work on my 1st generation iPod Touch. . .or my iPhone 2G. They said ‘due to manufacturing cost’ they just weren’t able to come up with a model for the older devices.
I told them that I would put ‘return to sender’ on the box when it got here, if they wanted(since I wasn’t able to actually review it). They were disappointed that I wasn’t able to do the review, but thankfully for you guys. . .they said that I could still give it away to a lucky reader!!!

I might log in and do a small post here or there, but for the next week posts we’re essentially going to take a break.
If you notice InstallerApps.com go offline during the next week that is actually a good sign. Not long after that you will see us back online, and faster than ever(100Mbit baby!)
This has been one heck of a year. From pizza boy to full time blogger. . .I just want to thank everyone who has been with me for the long haul(and the new readers too!). I hope that we can make 2009 even better.

AppStoreApps.com has been loading semi-slow lately(with some 500 errors even on this website) so it is time that we upgraded out hosting account. We’re going from a shared account to a dedicated server so things will be loading MUCH faster now.
I’m not really sure exactly how long the upgrade process with take. . .or when it will happen. After the move the files over, I have to go in and restore the databases, so during this process the website can go up and down
Twitter was a service that didn’t catch on with a lot of people at first. Over time it’s become accepted more and more which is why I like to bring this topic up every now and then.

Loading ...I normally keep the posts here related to iPhone applications or jailbreaking(guides, themes, etc). I used to do a ‘iPhone News of the Week’ post on Sundays where I would collect iPhone news, and includes 10-20 links to the articles at the end of the week.
I was thinking about almost doing the same, but instead of putting them all in 1 post, just posting about the news as it happens. Also, talking about the article instead of just putting a link to it(like a regular iPhone blog).
I have some extra time to put into the blog, now that I am full time. . .I just want to make sure it will be worth the time.
I wrote a post this past weekend talking about a thought that I had gotten all of a sudden. This post seemed to enrage most of the visitors, at least most of the ones that decided to comment.
It seemed most were annoyed that I decided to ‘focus on BigBoss’. Believe me, I have plenty of respect for this guy. I have watched him bring Cydia up(from nothing) and virtually overtake the Installer.app user-base. That is not an easy task and combined with his blog posts(that I have subscribed to for months and months), I have learned to respect the man.
The reason for picking him for the post is partly because of the success of Cydia(it just makes for more of a target), and partly because BigBoss himself seems to be a ‘bottle neck’ to the massive distribution of jailbroken applications. I even said in the post that this wasn’t in any attempt to bash BigBoss or his integrity. . .it was just a thought. This was more of something that just popped into my head and it made me think, ‘wow. . .what if this happened’. God forbid I talk about my thoughts about something iPhone related on a ‘blog about iphone applications’, lol.
More than anything, I’m just looking for the iPhone community to ’stay safe’. When you jailbreak your device anything can happen. Hopefully you have your ‘finger on the pulse’ enough that you can learn about an attack before it happens to you. . .but not everyone is that privileged.
