Have you ever thought to yourself, “sure, we are capable, but is there really a need?”

This tweak kind of smacks of that sentiment.

Sure, we can DO 7×7, but seriously, after seeing it… why would you?

Are you really that desperate for more app icon space? Frankly if you’re so packed for space and need to cram all you can into just a couple swipes, you’re an app pack rat. No one uses enough apps on a regular basis to warrant such an extreme measure. No one.

And, if by some bizarre, freak-of-nature, chance you do? Might I suggest Categories?

This is not scientific advancement. This isn’t curing people or saving lives, this is enjoying technology in the palm of our hands. If you really need to cram that much into your iPhone, I think you have bigger fish to fry than app storage space.

All that aside, however, I am mightily pissed that when I removed the tweak (and mind you, you have to actually uninstall it from Cydia to undo the adjustments, you cannot simply switch it off) it rearranged my icons and moved them to different screens altogether. I was none-to-pleased about that.

Provides a pop-up list that can be used to switch to/launch other applications without having to return to SpringBoard.

The beauty of this app is it works with (or without) Backgrounder. Simply double click and it pulls up a menu of running apps. Select from the list to switch.

If you have backgrounder installed (and if you ask me, you should), it runs both apps concurrently without quitting, if not, it simply switches to the other app and closes out of the one you’re in.

The one major draw back to this, however, is it takes control of your double press home option. For me, I’m losing iPod control at any time. Not a total deal breaker for me, frankly, so Kirikae has found a new home.

It’s got a great, simple interface (though I personally would prefer a smaller font size, but again, not a deal breaker) and it’s straightforward and easy to use. Not to mention, insanely convenient for those who multitask.

If you ever forget how to use it, simply open the app and select the “How to Use” option. Does it get any easier than that? I think not.

Improve the basic functionality of built in Maps.app.

Maps Enhancer is a simple tweak to change the functionality of Maps.app. You can change zoom levels from the default to a really detail zoom, up to 19, and keep map data in the cache. Very useful for using Maps when you don’t have a connection.

Hide the clock on the lock screen.

If you’ve ever wanted to hide the clock on the lock screen to show off that wallpaper, or just found it to be an annoyance, Lockscreen Clock Hide will hide it for you. Once it’s installed you can enable or disable it from the Settings app or enable/disable the StatusBar time.

Enable the numeric battery that’s only on the iPhone 3GS

If you wanted that nifty little battery percentage meter next to your battery like on the iPhone 3GS this simple tweak does it for you. Normally you would have to edit files manually to enable this but if you enable this it’ll do it for you!

Changes the sleep button behavior.

Sleep to Lock changes how your Sleep/Wake button works. One press brings up the lock screen in a neat animation, another click actually sleeps the iPhone. Pressing it while it’s off functions normally. It’s not really a big tweak, and I’m not sure what you could really use this kind of tweak for, but if you could use it, it works fine.

Package allows the use of external GPS units for any application.

If you own any of the few external GPS modules around I bet you’ve wanted to let the App Store apps take advantage of it’s capabilities. GPS Serial acts as a proxy of sorts to redirect any app requesting your location to the connected iGPS360, xGPS, or iGPSD module. Sadly I do not own any of these modules to test this app out for my self.

Want to use SlingPlayer on 3G and not just on Wi-fi? Then Tricker3G should be the trick for you.

Tricker3G is here to trick the recently released SlingPlayer app that it is on wifi, but in actuality it is on 3G. The same can be said about Skype with this tweak. Now I couldn’t try out SlingPlayer as I do not own a Slingbox but I did test out Skype and it worked just as good as VoIPOver3G. Making a Skype call over 3G worked fine, as far as quality goes, that’s really dependent on the network, not the Tricker3G. But if you want to use either Skype or SlingPlayer over 3G and literally anywhere, give Tricker3G a try.

Safari Tab Closer is a small utility to quickly close all tabs in Safari

Not much to say here. Simply hold down the tabs button within Mobile Safari for about 3 seconds and you’ll be prompted with a menu to close all tabs. A simple yet useful tweak that everyone can benefit from!

CyDelete lets you uninstall Cydia apps from the spring board.

Tired of having to go to Cydia to uninstall apps from your iPhone or iPod touch? Same, but CyDelete is an answer to a prayer. Now you can delete jailbreak apps from your device with ease. In fact, you’ve done it before. It is the same way you delete App Store apps. Press and hold an app icon till they start to wiggle, I’m sure you’ve noticed your jailbreak apps don’t have the little X to delete, now they will! Hit the X and the process begin. You’ll notice a little lag spike and prompts showing it is preparing to delete, and you’re given a confirmation message to make sure you really want to delete the app. Once it’s done press the home button to stop the wiggling and you’re set.

Simple tweak to stop the wiggling of icons when you’re arranging icons on your iPhone or iPod Touch. Kind of nifty if the wiggling lags your device like it would on mine but isn’t as much now.

NoAA is a MobileSubstrate extension that disables album art on the lock screen.

A simple tweak to let you enjoy your lock screen picture while playing music, instead of being replaced by the album art of the song you’re currently listening to. Once installed it is taken into effect, to disable it, you’ll have to uninstall it.

These are the Supreme Preferences for use with WinterBoard. The supreme Preferences gives you a lot of tweaks in your Settings app. Also installed are a few Supreme Preferences Themes.

Like Extended Preferences, Supreme Preferences aims to bring more options to the default Settings app on your iPhone or iPod Touch. They’re all minor things like setting a fake carrier, time, change calender start times, and numeric battery and wifi indicators. There were a few tweaks that it’s rival, Extended Preferences had over Supreme Preferences, but it’s a good alternative that does it job exactly as it should.
